Siofra’s Song (Broadus Supernatural Society Book 1)

Siofra's Song

In a society where supernatural creatures are known to humans, Siofra O’Hana has to deal with being a half-breed werewolf and telepathic. Losing her boyfriend after just finding out she was pregnant, Siofra takes off on a cross-country adventure. Breaking down in Montana, she takes up with a Pack. One year later she thinks her life is going to be perfect, until someone from her past comes back. Can she survive and make sure all her loved ones are going to be safe?

Such a heart warming, sweet, and sexy story.  All the characters were lovable, except for the ones that aren’t.  From the beginning all the way to the end, this book is filled with so much emotions from heart break to joy. The author definitely captured the emotions perfectly. I was crying my eyes out right from the beginning of the book.  It was so heart wrenching, but it definitely set the perfect base for the story.

Siofra is your strong heroine trying to find herself after a tragedy in her life.  She’s kind, loving, and strong. She is not your weak, whinny, annoying heroine that gets on your nerve halfway through the book. No matter what troubles and heartaches comes her way, she still finds the light at the end of the tunnel and greet it with a smile.

Connell and his brothers have the brotherhood that makes you envious of their relationship with each other. They are fun, quirky, absolutely adorable, and fiercely loyal to one another and their family.  They are close knit and you can’t help but fall for each of them.

While I absolutely loved the characters and the storyline, there are just a couple of parts where I wish the author spent a little bit more time on. The events leading up to what I perceived as the climax of the story came too swift and too soon. I was plowing through the book and didn’t realize how far along I’ve gotten when I looked down to see if I was almost done. Given I was two thirds of the way done, but that’s just it. The events leading up to the big moment and it was over before I really got a good grip of it. I feel as though some portions were rushed and the events didn’t really have time to properly develop. The last third of the book, while its sweet and a definite “awe” moment, feels like it was just added on. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the ending, but after the “big defeat” of the bad guys it felt like it’s added on to chase the monster under the bed type to give it that happy sweet ending. The other part is Sofria’s talents. I wish there were more development to that in this first book instead of just being laid out for Connell by her brother and that was it. It lacked the reaction and emotion such news should have brought the others after finding out the way they did. Given they didn’t have enough time to react with their situation, but even just a little reaction would have sufficed.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. It is filled with action, adventure, and romance it’ll keep you glued to it till the very end. This book is definitely a page turner and fast paced. You’ll fall in love with all the characters and wish there were more to go around.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
